Silent as Sleeping [For My Father]
My Father died suddenly when I was in my mid-20's. He went into hospital on the Sunday and died alone (without family) on the Thursday. It shook me to my core, my world unraveled and as is often the case for me; I tried to deal with it via the poetry form. This small collection of poems covers poems written over the week that he died, plus those written subsequently. It's not a light-hearted read, it's full of sadness and grief and has me revisiting the grief up to 2013, when it was first published.
Again, there's only a few of the original copies left and any new version will be very different so if you want to have an original copy; now is the time!
The 4th image is the cover you get on Kindle, and will be the front cover for any second edition I release. Drawn by Tony Barnes (an ex-colleague and friend), the watercolour is in my home, proudly displayed.
