Well the end of the year is nearly here and I have been trying to get through the month as best I can. Not a great month medically as I have seen one of my consultants and had some interesting, but not great, news.
Artistically, things are coming along with my next collection of poetry. This is currently titled 'Empty Boats' and it is taking shape quite nicely. I have also been involved (as Editor) in a project for my Daughters school; fund raising for a reflection garden. This project is a Fun Recipe Book, packed with all sorts of things to make and try (the website for it is here http://stpeterswh-fundraising.weebly.com/) and with a few other 'goodies' as well. This took a long time to bring to fruition. We decided to ask everyone at the school to submit a recipe and we also elicited the support of the Bishop of Chelmsford and a famous 'Bake Off' winner. So, after many months of writing and re-writing, proof reading, updates, re-style and updating more, it has been printed and is now on sale for the ridiculously low price of €5,99 - or 2 for €10! All profits go to the school and we hope to raise over €400 if at all possible. Now that the initial work is completed, in fact the main part I find enjoyable; it is now a case of marketing and advertising it in order to maximise sales. An interesting part of the process but not the thing that I find most stimulating - the creation process. As this has been ongoing for a long time, I was recently approached by a very creative person at school - the Mum of a child in my daughters class. This is another school-orientated project, one that was suggested to her by the headteacher at the school and, knowing my small skill with words, asked me if I'd participate. I was more than happy to do so and once it is completed, once it has been gifted to the school, I will unveil my small part of it via this blog. (I'm hoping to engender a small frisson of a cliffhanger here - how am I doing?) I think that the project is nearing completion - so look out for an update soon. Stay safe 'all' (I use the term humorously but without mirth) and happy reading...
